With schools heading back this week, we've taken a look at some of the best performing secondary schools in Greenwich.
The summer holiday is officially over, with the majority of teachers and pupils already back in school or returning early next week.
Schools across the country will be hoping for an undisrupted year following the pandemic-hit last 18 months, with exams likely returning.
So we've taken a look at the best performing secondary schools in Greenwich, with the data based on The Department for Education (DfE) published list from 2019, as last year's results were put on hold due to coronavirus.
The data ranks schools based on the 'Progress 8' score. Schools obtain a score which is based upon how much progress pupils made between the end of key stage 2 and the end of key stage 4, compared to pupils across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 2.
Pupils are meeting the expected standard if they achieve a scaled score of 100 or more in their reading and maths tests, and their teacher assesses them as 'working at the expected standard' or better in writing.
Schools are then given a score above or below zero - scores above zero meaning pupils made more progress, on average, than pupils across England who got similar results at the end of primary school (key stage 2). Scores below zero mean schools made less progress.
Also ranked is a school's Attainment 8 score, which is the score given to a school based on how well pupils have performed in up to eight qualifications.
And topping the table currently is St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive School with a Progress 8 score of 0.91, 'well above average'.
The academy reported that 99% of its pupils were entering employment or staying in education (based on 2017 leavers data), whilst 62% achieved Grade 5 or above in English and Maths GCSEs.
St Thomas More's achieved an Attainment 8 score of 59.3, the second highest in the borough.
Second on the list was St Ursula's Convent School with a Progress 8 score of 0.86, which also has 99% of pupils staying in education or employment, and 62% achieving the key Grade 5s or above.
The 'maintained school' actually pipped St Thomas More Catholic School with it's attainment score however, with a rating of 59.1.
In third was the Harris Academy Greenwich with a score of 0.57, with a attainment score of 55.0.
These three are the only secondary schools in Greenwich currently rated as 'well above average', with the rest of the schools rated 'average', 'below average' or 'well below average'.
