Walking around my school this month, I found myself doing quite a few double takes as it appeared that many of the girls in my school had spontaneously grown moustaches. Upon further inquiry it seemed that there was a reason to all this madness. Every November, there is annual event called Movember (a play on the words of 'moustache' and 'November'), where men grow moustaches and women can wear stick on moustaches to help raise money and awareness for men's health, such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

The Movember Foundation which runs this organisation has funded more than 800 programmes in 21 different countries, the foundation started in 2003 in Australia and the tradition every year is catching on and spreading the message at a fast rate. They aim to ultimately gain the support of both men and women to help men take charge of their health. It is a fun and enjoyable way to involve both genders of all ages to come together and take part in this organisation.

Jan Blevin spoke her thoughts on this topic, "I think it's absolutely fantastic. Movember has really stood out, and had a big impact on a serious issue. I've seen plenty of different moustaches this month, it's been a lot of fun."
