A HALL OF A CHRISTMAS!
As Bexley’s Hall Place opened its doors to the festive season, creative ideas are underway…
Hall Place, known for its beautiful gardens, historical background and of course the beautiful features of the Manor itself, welcomed in the festive season with its traditional craft fayre. With the array of stalls and sales on offer there were refreshments, jewellery, and hand-made craft decorations all ready and waiting to be put on the tree very soon, for another spectacular time of year.
The craft fayre which took place on the 15th & 16th of November was open for all ages with its eye-catching free entry sign! There were 45 stall holders containing unique and intriguing items, including delicious foods of different authentic backgrounds. The essence of sauces and spices filled the air with the sweet taste of a traditional cinnamon. And with the beautiful decorations and the tempting treats, who could have resisted the temptation to find somewhere nice to sit in the Hall Place Café. Drinking a hot chocolate while munching on that slice of that exceedingly good looking fruit cake never sounded so good!
As people came and went, the stallholders held on from 10-4pm, smiling as they worked their way through a successful and pleasing day of work. If only a day’s work were like this for everyone!
After having a very moving 100th anniversary commemoration for the Memorial Day, it was not forgotten. Memorabilia was still available for purchase such as old war documentary movies, hand crafted poppies and posters. It reminds us that even through the festive season, we must not forget those that sacrificed their own Christmas and lives so we could live as we do now.
