I recently visited ‘The Rose Inn’ - in Wickhambreaux - for a Sunday lunch.
The pub was a charming Tudor building with exposed beams, open fire, and a homely feel.
The staff were extremely accommodating for my party of 10 - a mixture of adults, children, and picky eaters.
We were placed behind the fireplace in their ‘snug’, which was both private and easily accessible.
Despite being a Sunday, the bar menu was still accessible, catering for all.
The roasts were large portions and were everything a good pub roast should be – hearty, homely and delicious.
They offered ‘half-roasts’ which were still decent portions - great for those with smaller appetites.
All of the items on the menu were reasonably priced and were good portions.
The staff were extremely friendly and warm, often checking on us and making sure we always had drinks.
The desserts – wow – were incredible; there were many choices, all homemade and all delicious – especially the ‘crab apple crumble’.
Overall, this pub proved to be a ‘must visit’ for Sunday lunches, and I will definitely be returning soon.
