Saffron Ridgway is a young student like any other apart from the metamorphic and solitary factor of dealing with chronic pain.
The word chronic shows that the illness or pain will continue for a long time and in Saffron's case the pain in her body has not stopped since the fateful month of April, the pain she explained affects nearly her entire body but it especially in her joints and legs; There is also an ongoing investigation into her stomach and bowel issues as well.
Some of us can not begin to imagine dealing with any sort of chronic illness or pain in our body but this is the challenging reality for Saffron and possibly others dealing with chronic pain. Every day life has been transformed for Saffron, walking to school is a challenge itself she tells me and she has to make-do with crutches.
Dealing with any sort of illness is excruciating physically but also mentally. With chronic pain or illnesses it is extremely hard on mental health. "There is always hope for change one day even though it feels like you are drowning."Saffron stated.
Saffron has told me that her experience has led her to realise how significant it is not to judge others as you never know what battles they are facing and the key point of 'not all disabilities and pain are visible'.
