It’s true; cold winds and rainy days are approaching quickly, but that’s not the only thing...

Christmas is right around the corner, a fun time for festivities, joy and celebration. Amidst the jolly atmosphere, portable tables and benches are getting set up on the cobbly pavement. Warm ruby red mulled wine is displayed along with a variety of the traditional Christmas delights. Twinkling fairy lights are placed carefully, miniature pine trees are decorated with flamboyant bobbles and of course a sparkling star, proudly flaunting off the gleaming golden tint. And soon, a busy bubble of people begin to gather around, eager to see what awaits them.

That’s right, the Christmas market is here!

Bromley Christmas market is one of the nearest attractions, where you can see numerous stalls, ready to sell foods, drinks and souvenirs. Showcases, fun fairs and activities for all age groups are available. But who are the ones behind this?

Start Up Bromley is an organisation that arranges markets. They sell products including sweets, beauty products, homeware, artwork, books and much more. Start Up Bromley launched in May 2021 with the aim to provide support to local businesses through Bromley libraries. Start Up Bromley is an ingenious scheme that offers business support for early-stage entrepreneurs through Bromley’s libraries. Markets collaborate with the Glades to display the products.

In this market, there are scrumptious Yorkshire puddings and a stall by a German sausage company to satisfy your tastebuds. Imagine trying, perhaps a bit cautious at first, a tiny bite of mince tart, then... simply bliss. The mouthwatering, sumptuous, delectable treats cannot wait to be devoured by your expectant mouths. Even a variety of rides are available. Children can be engaged by electrifying rides such as the miniature Ferris wheel and the splendiferous swirly slide that will simply whisk you away to a place of infinite cheerfulness and joviality.

The Christmas market is truly a magical experience that I believe everyone should experience at least once in their life. If you didn’t go the last year, this is definitely an experience that you shouldn’t miss out this time. If you didn’t go the year before or the year before that, don’t think, just go! Better late than never.
