BEXLEY U13 girls’ cricket team enjoyed their best ever season to date.
Winning the north Kent junior league ensured qualification for the last four in the county.
At the finals day at Hayes CC they finished a creditable third, their best ever position so far.
Following several rearrangements caused by bad weather, the eventual finals date did not do Bexley any favours as more than half of the squad were on holiday and they could only field seven players in an eight-a-side tournament.
Four players were in the original squad and three came up from the U11s section, two of which were playing in their first ever hard ball match, a daunting introduction.
Under these difficult circumstances, and against some of the best female cricketers in the county at this age group, Bexley’s squad all did as well as could be expected.
