DARTFORD Harrier triple-jumper Jack Fox is hoping for the perfect tuition from world champion Phillips Idowu after being announced as one of the first 500 worldwide to win a pair of tickets to next year’s Olympics.

Mr Fox, 20, has secured a chance to potentially see triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt or double gold medallist Rebecca Adlington in action in an exclusive promotion from Lloyds TSB.

But the former Longfield Academy pupil, who finished second at this year’s Kent Championships, is keeping his fingers crossed for the chance to see idol Idowu in action as he goes for London 2012 gold, hoping to pick up a few pointers along the way.

The rest of the world won’t find out if they have a seat at the Greatest Show on Earth until well into May but Mr Fox was overjoyed at her premature London 2012 news.

“I was pretty chuffed when I found out I had won tickets as I really didn’t expect it,” he said.

“It was a pretty early phone call to take and I had been out the night before but well worth it.

“Obviously being a triple-jumper I would love to go and see Phillips Idowu in action as he hopefully picks up Olympic gold.

“It would be great as well to watch him up close and maybe pick up a few tips that I can take away and that will help my own training.

“But I am game for anything really and I feel really privileged to have won tickets to what is a once in a lifetime experience.”

Ticket winners were drawn at random from the Trackside customer programme, with 500 supporters being given the chance to watch one of the 26 Olympic and 20 Paralympic sports at London 2012 over 31 action-packed days.

And Mr Fox, a former Bean Primary School pupil, said: “When I found out I told all my mates and they were pretty jealous of me because they all want to go to London 2012 too.

“I have become a bit more popular with them all and my Facebook has been a bit more active as everyone looks to have one of my tickets.

“But they can grapple all they want but I think I will take my dad Ian along with me because he is pretty keen to go and it will be nice to take him.”
