FIVE members of Dartford Harriers Atheltic Club were selected to represent Kent at the Inter Counties match at Ashford's Julie Rose Stadium.

Kent were third in the womens' and fourth in the mens' matches against teams from Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex, Hertfordshire, Hampshire and Essex.

Each county entered two athletes in each event to cover A and B-string standards.

It was a busy weekend for Megan Edwards and Chantelle Clare who had both competed the day before in the Jubilee Cup Final at Bedford.

Edwards had the additional challenge that her events were being held at the same time but coped well to finish second in the B-string 300m hurdles in 48.2secs before jogging over to win the B-string triple jump with 10.81m.

Clare was fourth in the A 200m in 27.8secs.

Other results: Tom Goodall, A, long jump, second, 6.38m; Jack Fox, B, triple jump, third, 11.74m; Hayley Hickmott, B, 800m, 5th, 2mins 32secs.
