AFTER the visit of the famous Lashings World XI last week, Bromley Cricket Club endured lashings of rain at the weekend and saw their National Cup semi-final called off.
The tie, against Cornwall-based St Just, will now be played on Sunday at the Plaistow Lane ground, starting at 1pm.
It also means, as Bromley chase a never- before-seen league and cup treble, the Evening Standard Challenge Trophy semi-final against Finchley has been put back to August 27.
There was happier news for cricket fans though when the Lashings World XI took on Bromley in a feast of big hitting fun.
Fans were treated to seeing New Zealand's Chris Cairns hit 94 as the visitors reached 349/5 off 40 overs.
Bromley's James Butterfill was the pick of the batsmen hitting an unbeaten 55 as his side fell short at 248/9.
Other famous names on show included England's Phil DeFreitas, Chris Cowdrey and Clare Connor as well as Richie Richardson from the West Indies and Sri Lankan Aravinda de Silva.
