KENT'S push for automatic promotion to the Pro40 Division One took a step nearer following a 41-run victory over Leicestershire.
The Foxes were all out for 157 as they chased the Spitfires' total of 198-7 at Canterbury.
Leicestershire lost two wickets for 13 in the first seven overs and, despite Paul Nixon's century off 53 balls, they never recovered.
Neil Dexter was the star with the ball taking 3-17 while Darren Stevens hit 74 off 104 balls.
Kent travel to Worcestershire in the competition on Sunday but in the meantime they face a trip to Yorkshire today in the County Championship.
Off the pitch fans' favourite David Fulton has hinted he may be leaving Kent at the end of the season.
The opener, 34, said: "This could well be my last cricket week.
"It might well be the case but if it is my last it's a good one to go out on."
Fulton has hit more than 10,000 runs since his debut in 1992.
He was on the verge of an England call up in 2001 after being the first man to 1,000 runs that season.
