BEXLEY CC U11 girls secured a top three finish in a competition at the Tunbridge Wells Festival.
The contest attracted 15 teams from Kent, Surrey and Sussex and the Bexley girls successfully negotiated the qualifying group with victories over Fordcombe, Tunbridge Wells Diamonds and St Peters.
This set up a semi-final clash with Eastbourne and although they were beaten by the eventual tournament winners, Bexley guaranteed third place with a triumph against fellow beaten semi-finalists Hastings.
Meanwhile, the club’s adult women’s team won the south east region first division national league title to seal a play-off date with the winners of the south west division, Plympton, for a place in the top flight next year.
Skipper Nat Lane (66no) was instrumental as Bexley set a target of 183 before they dismissed their opponents for 120 in the 42nd over to seal a 63-run win.
