DARTFORD Harriers athlete Grace Clements has been selected to represent England in October’s Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Clements will fly the flag in the heptathlon, which is made up of the 100m hurdles, 200m, high jump, long jump, shot, javelin and 800m.
The 26-year-old former Dartford Girls Grammar School pupil is fourth in the UK ranking list.
She studied for a geography degree at Emmanuel College Cambridge but is still a member of Dartford Harriers and maintains regular contact with former coach Alan Champion.
Meanwhile, Dartford Harriers' senior men’s team secured promotion back to Division Two at the first attempt and won the championship by beating the league leaders in a dramatic final match of the season at Hastings on August 14.
The match was not decided until the final event of the day.
The final results were: Dartford (112 points); Eastbourne (108 points); Epsom (55 points); East Grinstead (53 points).
Dartford again dominated the field, winning the A and B string in the high jump, long jump, pole vault and shot.
There were wins in triple jump A string, javelin A string, 100m B string and 1,500m B string.
Despite some experienced athletes not being available, a new intake of younger athletes stepped in to underline the strength in depth now emerging at the club.
Alex Lee scored a hat-trick of wins in 100m B (11.8s), triple jump B (12m12) and long jump A (6.24m).
There was a double win for Dave Hall on his debut (pole vault B string and javelin A 38.85m).
There was also a double win for Rob Hammond in the pole vault A (3.00m) and long jump B (5.87m).
Other winners were: Andy Green 1,500m B 4.36m; Paul Williams high jump A 1.85m; Aaron Barham high jump B 1.75m; Dave Blackwell shot A 11.42m; Scott Harvey shot B 9.19m.

Men: Dave Blackwell shot 11.33.
