Having edged out Canterbury 20-5 last weekend, this Saturday (21st August) Blackheath will entertain Richmond at Club @ Well Hall, as the build-up to the start of the new National League One campaign gathers pace.
In a repeat of the oldest club fixture in world rugby, the two clubs’ 2nd XVs kick-off events at 2.00 pm before the main match takes place at 4.00 pm.
Blackheath’s Director of Operations Fran Cotton said “We’re looking forward to hosting Richmond at the start of what will be their 150th anniversary season."
"Blackheath and Richmond have enjoyed great matches since they first met on Richmond Green in 1864, even during the war when they combined to play games, and it would be good to see a big crowd turn out to support their continuing rivalry.”
Bar and refreshments will be available from midday on Saturday at the Club @ Well Hall, Kidbrooke Lane, Eltham, and admission is free of charge.
