GRAVESEND Rowing Club’s scullers attended Sudbury Regatta on Saturday and tasted success in three out of four categories.
Christopher Johnson won his first heat in the junior 14 single scull section by beating Coll of Sudbury RC easily in 3m05s.
He was then beaten by only half a length in the final by Porter of Maidstone Invicta RC.
This was only Christopher Johnson’s third sculling race.
Matthew Johnson and Dean Pettipher beat Anness of Royal Docks by one length in 2m19s in their intermediate two double sculls category heat.
They went on to win their final by beating Simonds-Gooding from Thames RC by two lengths in 2m19s.
Matthew Johnson then won his final in the intermediate threes in his single scull against Perkins of Lea RC by one length in 2m39s.
Not to be outdone, Pettipher won his single scull final at intermediate two level against Ford of Broadland BC by four lengths in 2m29s.
