A YOUNG member of Gravesend & Northfleet Swimming Club has enjoyed a double success by qualifying for the British national age group championships and becoming a category winner in the Dartford and Gravesham Try Angle awards.
Louise Todd, 13, a pupil at Gravesend Grammar School for Girls, was nominated by the school following attaining her national qualifying times in the 100m and 200m backstroke events, as well as for the effort she put into her training.
The Try Angle awards are a public representation which portrays the qualities of young people and aims to change the misconceptions a proportion of the community wrongly hold about young people.
Todd trains up to 13 hours a week with Gravesend & Northfleet SC and also attends gala events at weekends.
There were more than 100 children nominated for the Try Angle awards in eight different categories.
Todd was nominated for the personal achievement in sport award and attended the ceremony at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford, where she was presented with her trophy and certificate.
She will be taking part in the British national age group championships in Sheffield from July 28 to August 1.
