GRAVESEND Regatta Committee held its lower Thames challenge race on Sunday.
The contest saw a full entry of four teams row the seven-mile course from Gravesend to Higham Buoy and back, which included crews from pubs The Wheatsheaf, TJs and The Peacock, together with a crew from a company called Newbridge.
Winners were The Wheatsheaf crew in just over an hour.
They finished in front of TJs in second, The Peacock in third and Newbridge fourth.
The Wheatsheaf’s crew were Paul Mitchell, Stephen Cason, Steve Jarrett, Kenny Miller and Gary Mahoney.
The next event on the calendar is the junior regatta, summer regatta and mixed Dartford Bridge race this weekend.
