A FATHER and son team from Blackheath & Greenwich Bowls Club have reached the quarter-final of the county pairs with a 24-12 win over Eltham BC duo Eric Nash and Keith Bailey.
James and Jeff King secured the success and now James, who plays in the county U25 team, has now qualified for his full county badge.
In the President’s Trophy, B&G were knocked out by Bromley by 77 shots to 55.
B&G’s only success came in the triples, while Bromley won the singles pairs and the fours.
In the private clubs league, an under-strength B&G held off a strong Bromley team, winning 91 shots to 65 and collecting five and a half points to one and a half.
Both of B&G’s NWK triples team enjoyed 6-0 wins this week.
The ladies had a great away win against West Wickham, where captain Denny Rutherford skipped her triple to a last end victory having trailed for 17 ends.
Meanwhile, the men retained their top slot win a 45-25 shots win against Swanley.
