BROMLEY moved up to joint top in the Kent Cricket League Premier Division after Saturday’s victory at Bickley Park.
Bickley opted to bat after winning the toss but were left to rue the decision when Alex Darroch (0) was bowled by Edward Giddins to leave them on 18-3.
Phil Browning hit a half century before he was caught by Paul Harrison as the hosts climbed up to 106-6.
James Butterfill then single handidly destroyed Bickley’s tail end with figures of 4-29 as the hosts were dismissed for 142.
Bromley set about reaching the target in a steady fashion and by the time Butterfill (39) went LBW, the visitors stood on 83-3.
They secured a three-wicket success in just under 28 overs and St Lawrence’s shock defeat at home to Sevenoaks lifts Bromley level on points with their main title rivals.
Hartley were unable to put the brakes on their recent slump as they suffered a 60-run defeat at the hands of The Mote.
Darrell Carter (4-39) played a key role with the ball but The Mote were still able to post a respectable tally of 263-9.
Sam Billings (70) and Patrick Underwood (53) aside, Hartley’s response was a disappointment and they were bowled out for 203.
Bexley (225) went down to a five-wicket reverse in their home meeting with Lordswood (228-5).
