Seven Istead and Ifield Harriers took part in the rescheduled Dover Half Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday.
Having been cancelled in February, due to snow on the course, the organisers, Deal Tri Club, did well to re-arrange the event on a fairly quiet weekend for local races. The new course was fairly challenging but conditions on the day were pleasantly cool, if a bit breezy.
First home for the club, on his return to racing following injury, was Ray Pearce, who finished in an impressive third place from 258 runners. The club also managed to get 4 finishers in the top 32, enough to get second place in the Men’s Team event.
