BEXLEY inflicted a two-wicket defeat on Bromley in the Kent Cricket League Premier Division on Saturday.

Bromley appeared to be in command as the opening partnership of James Butterfill and Sadiq Hassan took the visitors past 60.

But Hassan (30) and Butterfill (31) were both bowled by Jason Benn to leave Bromley on 66-2 and they were bowled out for 181 when Ricky Anderson (29) was caught.

Anderson took a hat-trick of Bexley wickets as Bromley attempted to prevent their rivals from reaching the target.

However, Jibran Khan (60) gave the hosts a useful platform to build on and it was left to Benn (2no) and George Wells (21 no) to seal victory as Bexley responded by reaching 182-8 in 58 overs.

Phil Browning’s bowling (3-49) helped Bickley Park restrict Tunbridge Wells to 213-6.

But despite the best efforts of Browning with the bat (31) and Chris Coulson (54no), Bickley Park could only muster a response of 143 before they were dismissed to hand Tunbridge a comfortable 70-run triumph.
