With only one road race being held in Kent over the weekend, 11 Istead and Ifield Harriers made the trip to East Malling to take part in Larkfield Athletics Club’s 10k.
On a new fast two lap course, held in ideal conditions, Joe Cumberland was the club’s first finisher in 18th position, coming in just ahead of veteran Andrew Archer. The race, which was primarily run through traffic-free private and horticultural estates, had 271 finishers.

Track and Field
In the Southern Counties track and field meeting held at Sutton, the club’s six representatives between them managed to take part in 14 events, following up their fine opening meet performance with another 4th place from 7 participating clubs.
The club is, as always, keen to get new members to take part in both track and field, and in road running. All standards will be made welcome at Cascades in Gravesend on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.
