Week 3 of the summer season saw O’Connors improve their position at the head of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance with the Royal Oak and Kings Arms leading the lower divisions.
In the Elite division O’Connors increased their lead at the top of the table to three points after brushing aside the Pickwick 3-0 in sets (11-4 in frames). Shane Hutley was the lynchpin for O’Connors winning two set deciders in his sparkling 3/3 performance.
The Hotshots remain second despite losing by 2-1 in sets (but winning 8-7 in frames) in a very competitive match away at Riley’s Woolwich.
The Rack Pack are third after defeating the Summerfield by 2-1 in sets (10-5 in frames) with Alex Winter breaking and dishing in the first of his 3/3, Dan Murphy and Miro Cujic 2/2 with Miro seven balling his second opponent.
Riley’A won the first two sets 4-1 before wins by Darren Porter, Ryan Francis(break and dish) and Steve Reed secured the final set for Riley’s Rovers to make the match score 2-1 in sets (10-5 in frames) in favour of Riley’s A.
In Tier 2 East the Royal Oak maintained their three point lead at the top of the table with a 2-1 in sets (9-6 in frames) win over the Running Horses.
Our Lady of the Rosary remain second after scrapping through this close encounter with the Blue Anchor by 2-1 in sets (8-7 in frames).
Erith Snooker Master 8’ers turned on the style against the White Hart to defeat them by 3-0 in sets (12-3 in frames) in a match that was switched to Erith Snooker Club. Paul Clarke, unbeaten this season, Paul Williams and John Ratcliffe all winning 3/3 ensured victory for the home side.
In Tier 2 West the top of the table clash between the Kings Arms and the Fox under the Hill finished honours even with the Arms winning 2-1 in sets but the Fox winning 8-7 in frames. Chris Gaunt 3/3, twice this season, was inspirational as the Fox raced to a 6-0 lead before a dramatic fightback by the Kings Arms saw them take the last two sets.
The Bellegrove Social Club are nicely placed in third place, two points behind the Fox and three behind the Kings Arms, after a 3-0 in sets (10-5 in frames) victory over Gallies with Dan Foley winning all three of his frames for the Bellegrove for the second week running.
The Dutch House Nuthouse claimed their first win of the season against local rivals the Old Tigers Head by 2-1 in sets (8-7 in frames) in a close fought match by the A20 in Eltham.
