Tonbridge Juddians 44 v Dartfordians 7
Rugby Union London Divisoion Three (SE)
WITH three league games to go Darts made the journey to TJs looking for a win despite the dread of relegation, writes Terry Kirk.
An overcast, drizzly day made for slippery conditions but from the off both sides looked to make the game as enjoyable as possible.
Darts had the better of the early exchanges but a hanging kick from the home side got a lucky bounce and TJs went 70 up.
However good work from the Darts pack saw the away side work their way into the opposition 22.
From there the ball went through five pairs of hands before Dan Phillips scored on the left wing.
Mark Hutchinson kicked a great conversion to bring things back to all-square.
TJs, without getting on top, managed to score further tries and went into the half time break 227 up.
Darts did not feel out of the game at half time and were working hard to get back into contention but with 20 minutes to go Peter Evans was sin-binned and TJs took control running in further tries to win the game 44 7.
This was a game Darts never felt out of but TJs punished every one of the visitors turnovers.
No league game next week but Darts take on league leaders Tunbridge Wells on April 8 as their involvement with the division comes to a rapid end.
