Blackheath 28 v 19 Esher
Rugby Union National League Two
BLACKHEATH'S talented teenagers were the difference as third-placed Esher were beat and Club secured four valuable points.
The hosts climbed to 10th in the league putting 15 points between them and the relegation spot.
Eighteen-year-old Frankie Neale and David Whitehead, 17, stole the show aiding their experienced teammates at The Rectory Field.
Whitehead said: "I really enjoyed it and playing in the first team is something I could get used to."
Blackheath opened the scoring through a stupendous Paul Sampson try under the posts after he ran almost the length of the pitch. Neale converted.
There followed a flurry of penalties with Neale and Esher's Neil Hallett sharing four kicks.
The half ended with another Sampson try after Neale's long kick led to a line-out and the Esher defence could not deal with Club's fast attacking rugby.
Esher came out in the second half with a Hallett penalty and a converted try by lock Mark Butterworth.
But Club did not crumble and instead increased their lead through hooker Rob Webber's try and Neale's conversion.
Neale kicked his third penalty to earn a superb victory against the odds.
