MARTIAL arts fighters from the Beckenham Taoist Arts Organisation (TAO) have come away from the English Wushu Championship with an armful of medals.
Gemma Salter won double gold in the under-65kg light and full contact fighting while her partner Adam Wood took gold in the under-80kg full contact category and silver in the under-80kg light contact category.
TAO member Gareth Pryce met Adam in the final of the under-80kg full contact, meaning the club have a silver medal from the category to celebrate as well.
Helena Cole fought in the under 70kg full contact and came away with the silver medal for her efforts.
At the championship, held in Maidstone, ladies veteran Jane Frew won gold in the under-70kg category and Oonagh McGilligan took silver in the same category.
Finally Paul Millington took bronze in the light contact under- 75kgs category.
The organisation, based at St Barnabas' Church Hall, Beckenham, also celebrated as Gemma and Gareth Pryce passed their judging qualifications during the tournament.
