FOLLOWING on from Michael Skinner's performance at the Great Edinburgh International there were equally good performances from Blackheath and Bromley athletes closer to home.
A healthy number of runners turned out for the club's open 10km cross-country race at Hayes.
There were some unexpected runners featuring in the women's race with first and second places going to 13-year-olds.
Amy DeMatos and Rebecca Smith entered the race as a training run and the duo defeated all the seniors with Amy two seconds clear in 47mins 16secs while senior women's captain Kate Pratten took third in 25 seconds later.
Alex Gibbins was a runaway winner of the men's race timing 36mins 50secs and Ciaran Osborne took second in 38mins 40secs with physio Steve Holmes, who is in training for the London Marathon, in third.
The race incorporated the club's veteran championships and for the men there were wins for Roy Smith (over-40s), Con Griffin (over-50s), Mike Cronin (over-60s) and David Churchus (over-70s).
Annie McDonough took the women's title while Nanette Cross won the over-65s.
