Beckenham 29 v 3 Sidcup
Rugby Union London Two South
BECKENHAM moved to fourth place with a convincing five try win against Sidcup.
Sidcup scored first when Richard Pilgrim kicked a penalty but it only served to spur Beckenham into action.
Their first unconverted try was scored by hooker Eddie Redding following a strong drive from the pack.
The second try was for winger Chris Hay just before half time.
Pat Wright's conversion made the score 12-3 at half time.
Tim Whitehead opened the scoring in the second half from a sublime pass by stand off Wright.
Seb Rose scored a try following a powerful forward drive and Beckenham's final converted try came from Leigh Woodcock on a counter attack.
Coach Simon Kift was pleased with his team's performance.
He said: "I was delighted, especially in the second half.
"We decided to generate more continuity and speed the game up and it paid dividends as Sidcup tired and we piled on the pressure."
Beckenham host London Nigerians from London 2 North in the fourth round of the Intermediate Cup. Kick-off, 2pm.
