THAMESMEAD's Ryan Barrett is hoping his career will take off after Monday's fight at Heathrow's Thistle Hotel.
Barrett, 22, is fighting Anthony Christopher, from Wales, in the lightweight division and is supremely confident of success.
He said: "I don't know a lot about the guy but it wouldn't really matter who they put in front of me, because I believe in my own abilities and honestly think I have the beating of most opponents out there.
"I'm in great shape and can't wait for the fight to come around. Hopefully I'll have a lot of supporters there on the night who will make plenty of noise."
Since turning professional three years ago, Barrett has established a reputation as a hard-hitting boxer. In January of this year he defeated Southern Area lightweight champion Peter McDonagh, from Bermondsey, although the title was not on the line.
Ringside seats for Monday's bout, which is over eight rounds, are priced at £55 including a meal.
