DARTFORD Harries’ runners enjoyed a busy weekend, competing at events on Saturday and Sunday.
The Kent fitness league cross country contest took place on Saturday in the attractive setting of Knole Park, Sevenoaks.
Results:
Leon Goodwin 20th, Tony Durey 32nd, Frank Hudson 89th, Ruth Ward 119th, Stephanie Wood 176th, Gillian Skellon 223rd, Jenny Goodwin 246th, Maureen Farmer 273rd.
The final Kent league cross country of the season was held on Sunday at Parkwood School, Swanley.
The course was a testing one set in the grounds of the school and the conditions were good on the day.
Durey, Hudson, Ward and Wood were running their second race of the weekend, having also competed in Knole Park.
The women raced first and a good run from Ward gave her 10th place.
Laura Currie also ran well and finished 15th.
They were backed up by Wood (25th) and Hayley Hickmott (27th), who ended the league season in 10th place overall after completing all four races.
The women’s team ended the season in fifth place.
In the men’s race, Durey was again first home for the Harriers in 38th place followed by John Kraushaar (48th), Stuart Waterman (54th), Hudson (75th), Steve Hickmott (85th) and race organiser Paul Hills in 109th.
The men ended the season in a creditable eighth place overall.
