KESTON tennis star Verena Scott has won her first junior international title in Qatar.
The 15-year-old partnered Canada’s Tracey Dong in the final to land the doubles crown at the tournament.
It was a case of third time lucky for Scott in doubles competitions, as she reached ITF doubles finals last summer in Canada and Mexico but unfortunately fell at the last hurdle.
The result is particularly pleasing as she was sidelined with a foot injury from September to Christmas last year.
Scott also reached the quarter-finals of the singles contest, which will result in her world ranking rising to around 650, making her the highest world-ranked junior in Kent.
