GRAVESEND Hockey Club’s first team shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Sevenoaks Thirds.
The game was fairly evenly balanced in the first half when Becky Saunders managed to follow up on a shot and fire into the Sevenoaks goal giving Gravesend a narrow advantage at half-time.
Sevenoaks had wave after wave of attacks in the second half but the Gravesend defence soaked them up with keeper Lucy Allinson having an outstanding game.
Eventually Sevenoaks did break down the defence and were back on level terms and despite both teams having further chances, the game finished all square.
Captain Donna Meers struck late on to earn Gravesend’s third string a 4-3 win over Cobdown.
Meanwhile, Kirsten Kitchener, Gravesend's young goalkeeper, has been selected to play for Kent U14s.
