DARTFORD Harriers athletes were in action on Sunday at both the inter-counties championships at Crawley and the Kent Young Athletes League at Deangate Stadium in Hoo.
Worthy of special mention from the KYAL meeting were EirinnOunsworth (under-13 girls A string wins in 75m hurdles, high jump,and long jump), Lewis Jackson (under-13 boys A string wins in the 75m hurdles and javelin with a personal best of 34.02m) and Joseph Millman (under-13 boys A string wins in the long jump and 200m).
There was also a promising debut from Matthew Sommerville in the under-15 A string javelin where his throw of 26.47m secured second place.
Three athletes represented Kent at Crawley in the inter-counties championships.
Eight counties competed, with A and B string athletes selected from the county championships in May.
Results
Under-17 ladies: Samantha Brown 300m hurdles B string – first 46.04s; Natalie Hickmott 300m A string - fourth 42.04s.
Under-17 men: Aaron Barham A string high jump - fifth 1.80m.
Brown and Hickmott now go forward to the national championships at Bedford next weekend.
