A PAIR of scullers from Gravesend Rowing Club have formed a novice double partnership.
Dean Pettipher, who recently came second in the prestigious Doggett's Coat and Badge race, teamed up with Matthew Johnson and travelled to Suffolk to take part in the Sudbury Regatta.
The water conditions were very good and the pair won their race easily in 2m28s to take the title of novice double sculls.
They now move up a class to intermediate three status.
Both Pettipher and Johnson intend to enter other races as double and single scullers.
Pettipher is also now in training for his last try in next year’s Doggett’s Coat and Badge Race.
