BOTH teams from Blackheath & Greenwich Bowls Club progressed to the third round of the Cox Cup.
The A team saw off Woolwich & Plumstead after B&G’s home side had run up a 30-0 score when the visitors conceded.
Playing South Hill Wood, the B side were involved in a tighter struggle before winning by 20 shots.
The club returned to winning form in the NWK league with a 6-0 (46-26) victory over visitors Westerham, who had beaten third-placed Muirhead 6-0 in last week’s round of games.
These results keep B&G in second place behind Sidcup.
In the Bexley borough doubles fours, both B&G teams won.
A seven-shot win against Bromley (38-31) was led by Steve Marratt’s 24-12 victory away at Plaistow Lane, while the B team won both rinks against Kings for a 51-31 victory.
In an inter-divisional game in the Private Clubs league, HSBC, who are bottom of division two, pulled off a surprise 2-2 draw to dent B&G’s challenge for the division one championship.
