BEXLEY CC’s girls’ under-13s entertained an invitation team made up of players from Sidcup CC, Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar School, Birkbeck School and Burnt Oak School on Sunday.
The 10-player invitation team made 106 for the loss of six wickets in batting out their full allocation of 22 overs.
In reply, the eight-strong Bexley team posted 107-6 in 21.4 overs, scraping home with two balls to spare and effectively winning by one-wicket with the last pair at the crease.
It was a good showing by the experimental visiting team and there were lots of good performances.
This game was arranged to give girls with little or no experience in cricket a chance to sample the game and several of them have already shown an interest in joining the Bexley club.
