JAMES King reached the semi-finals of the London and southern counties Lonsdale singles with a 20-10 victory over Jack Cousins of Eastleigh BC.
The 17-year-old Blackheath & Greenwich bowler opened up a 10-shot lead at 13-3 and then held his nerve to resist a recovery by Cousins, who closed the score to 13-10 before King regained the initiative.
In the Kent singles quarter-final, Steve Marrett defeated Nigel Luck 21-5 with a superb display of bowling, but he could not retain his form in the semi-final and he lost to Mark Johnson from Milton Regis BC.
