Excitement is growing ahead of the much anticipated return of the world famous Lashings cricket side to Bexley Cricket Club next Friday (July 4).
Some of the star names on show at this year’s event include Herschelle Gibbs, Ian Harvey, John Emburey, Corey Collymore and Phil DeFreitas.
The 35 overs a side game against the Leigh Academies Trust is scheduled to start at 2.30pm at the home of Bexley CC in Manor Way.
Kevin Brewer is organising the event for the Trust is confident the game will be a very close and exciting contest
He said: “It is fantastic for the Bexley area we are able to have this incredible event here for the second year running.
“We had more than a thousand people watch last year’s game and I hope the public turn up in their droves again on Friday for what promises to be another superb day of top class cricket and entertainment.
“The student team this year comprises of several players with county second XI experience and the rest all play in the Kent Premier League so we believe we will give the Lashings legends a serious contest.”
Gates open at 1pm and the cost for admission is £6 for adults and £4 for concessions.
This includes a full colour match programme containing a scorecard and autographs page.
There will also be a fully licensed bar open to the public, a raffle with some superb prizes and a barbecue on the go to add to the sporting entertainment.
