It's taken six weeks but Royal Oak of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Elite League have managed their first win of the season over fellow strugglers North Heath Social Club.

It was a basement battle as the two bottom clubs faced each other and it was North Heath who got off to the better start, winning the first set 4-1.

Royal Oak rallied round, taking the second set by the same score line to tie the match at one set all and five frames all before just edging the last set 3-2' making the final score 2-1 and 8-7.

Man of the match for the Oak was Phil Tworek, who won all three of his frames.

Despite the win Royal Oak stay bottom of the table, with North Heath just one point above them.

By far the strangest result of the night came at Bellegrove, where they lost in sets 2-1 to Rileys Rebels but won in overall frames 9-6 to share the points.

The first set went to form with the home side winning it 4-1 but the Rebels came back strong to win both of the last two sets 3-2, with Barry Barham taking both his frames and Declan Kelly clearing up from a dry break in the last set.

Bellegrove's Kevin Smith came away with some credit by winning all three of his frames to keep them second in the table.

O'Connors extend their lead at the top to six points and are now nine points above their opponents, Eltham Terrace Club A in third, after a 3-0 and 9-6 victory.

Pickwick held on to fourth after a 2-1 and 11-4 triumph over Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats.

It was still a close game after the first two sets, with the teams each winning a set and Pickwick 6-4 up in frames but they were dominant in the final set, winning all five frames with Paul Gafa clearing from a dry break in the penultimate frame and Ash Hall with a magnificent break and dish in the final frame.

It was a strange match for costly fouls as three blacks were potted early and there was an in off but that didn't bother Dean James or Gary Dixon, who both won all three of their frames.

O'Dowds Flyers remain top of SLKPA Tier Two East after their comprehensive victory over Bellegrove Social Club B.

They won the first set 5-0, the second 3-2 and the final set 4-1, making the final score 3-0 and 12-3.

Player of the night was Jon Syta, who won all three of his frames and he was backed up by Keith Smith and Jasper Bacon, both winning two frames.

Glenmore Arms A are two points behind Flyers, after they narrowly beat Glenmore Arms II by 2 sets to 1 and 8 frames to 7.

Glenmore II had the better start, winning the first set 3-2, which included Mark Carrano securing the first of his two frames against his former team.

The next two sets went down to a final frame decider, which James Grant won both times for Glenmore A, including a seven ball clearance from a dry break to go with his victory from the first set.

Dean Geary-Parr also completed a 7-baller for Glenmore A.

Two points behind Glenmore A in third are Eltham Terrace Nuthouse, who beat bottom club White Hart 3-0 and 11-4.

It was a great all round team performance with Shaun Shephard and Ben McIntosh scoring a hat trick, Craig Jones winning two out of two and Aaron Shephard, Dave Sparey and Lester Barrow all successful in one of their two frames.

O'Dowds A picked up their first win in SLKPA Tier Two West, beating Lord Clyde 3-0 and 9-6.

O'Dowds won each set by the same 3-2 score line, with Neil Shelton and Clive Forrest both winning all three of their frames.

Pete Barber and Martin Luff put up a good fight for Lord Clyde, securing four of their team's six frames to stay in fourth place.

Shock result of the night saw bottom team Royal Osk Addicks record a victory, 2-1 in sets over second placed Eltham Terrace Rack Pack but they had to share the points as Rack Pack won in frames 9-6.

This setback leaves Rack Pack seven points behind league leaders Eltham Terrace Rovers, after their 2-1 and 11-4 triumph over Pickwick Academicals.

Rovers were rampant in the first two sets, winning 4-1 and 5-0, including a break and dish by Ryan Francis in the opening set but they must have took their foot off the gas in the last set as Academicals took it 3-2.

Both Darren Porter and stand in Captain Paul Dawson won all three of their frames.
