SWANLEY BMX sensation Tom Leaver tops the leader board in the UK Vert series.
Hextable School pupil Tom Leaver travelled to Adrenaline Alley Skatepark in Corby, Northamptonshire, to compete in the first round, where he finished first overall on the day.
The 15-year-old won £250 worth of prizes and is hoping to compete in the rest of the series in an attempt to become a national champion.
Vert riding is one of the more extreme and exhilarating aspects of BMX racing, where the ramps range from 11ft to over 13ft high.
The UK Vert Series consists of four separate contests around the country in a bid to find national champions in three groups, with Leaver bidding to secure the children’s crown.
