Coulter followed this up with a 1hr04m50s to claim the Gravesend CC Eldridge Memorial Trophy.

Richard Bettaney rode at Cyclopark in the senior race in cold and windy conditions but still managed a very creditable seventh to finish in the chasing bunch.

The club’s best wishes go with young Gravesend cycle adventurers Dan Woodrow and Leon Gower, who are setting off cycle-touring in Europe.

Gravesend’s Sunday Club rides continue each Sunday at 9am from the War Memorial Cobham.

This Saturday some GCC riders will visit Herne Hill velodrome to test their legs with track riding and then on Sunday the club rides in the Castle 100 sportif in aid of Action Medical Research.
