A PAIR of darts players who are members of Farnborough Thrushes have qualified for the televised stages of the UK Open.
Scott Marsh, 30, from Farnborough, and 27-year-old Orpington man Terry Dunford secured their places after progressing at the Alexandra Palace qualifiers.
They had to score as many points as possible with 15 darts and the top 16 highest scorers then faced off in a deciding match of the best of three legs 501.
Marsh, who has previously been ranked as high as 15 in the world, won his game 2-0, while Dunford, who is a current Kent County A player, also triumphed 2-0 to secure their places at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium for the main event between June 6 and June 9.
They will be in the draw which includes the likes of Phil Taylor, world number two Michael Van Gerwen and many more elite players hoping to win the title and £40,000 first prize.
