SUNDAY saw a good turnout from Dartford Harriers at the 32nd Hercules Wimbledon open meeting.

In the U15 girls’ 1,500m, Holly Page and Chloe Sharp were first and second respectively, both achieving personal bests of 4:54:33 and 4:59:59.

Cameron Sharp ran 5:41:71 in his first run over 1,500min the U13 boys, while Callum Ward timed 4:48:59 in his first year as an U17 boy.

In the 100m and 200m races there were also some notable early season performances.

Isio Orogun finished second in the U15 girls’ in both races with times of 12.86s and 26.6s respectively, while Naomi Orogun ran 13.19s and 26.9s to place fourth in the U17 girls’ contest.

Maliek Mills timed 15.02s for the 100m and also ran in the 200m.

Dereck Aguma finished seventh in the 100m U17 boys’ with a time of 11.65s.

In the mile, Dartford had two athletes competing in the U20 category, both getting personal bests.

Rebecca Wilby finished fourth in 5:56:03 and Cassie Benson fifth in 6:09:91.

The 800m saw three athletes compete, with Alex Cameron winning his U20 heat in a PB time of 2:11:16, Lewis Caiels achieving 2:13:45 in the U17 boys’ and Rebecca Wilby, in her second race of the day, timing 2:46:38.

Dartford’s youngest competitor, Emily Page, competed in the U11 girls’ 600m and achieved a PB time of 2:27:84.

Meanwhile, there were also some notable performances in the field events.

Harley Parsons, competing in only his fourth event, won the U15 boys’ javelin, throwing a PB distance of 42.76m and almost achieving the English schools’ qualifying standard of 43m.

Leanne O’Donovan also won the U20 girls’ javelin with a throw of 31.39m.

Holly Cameron threw 7.09m in the U17 girls’ shot putt and Georgina Mason-Reeves threw 27.90m in the U17 girls’ discus.
