Cray Wanderers start the new 2012-13 season - their fourth season in the Ryman Premier League - with a visit to newly-promoted Leiston on Saturday (3pm).
The Wands rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 2-2 draw at Whitstable Town on Saturday.
An entertaining and well-contested game against their Ryman Division One hosts saw Cray play plenty of their trademark good passing football, but they twice had to come from behind to draw a game that they dominated for most of the ninety minutes.
After gifting an early goal to Ian Pullen for the home side, the Wands got down to business and Leigh Bremner slammed in a penalty-kick after he was tripped from behind in the 11th minute.
Efforts from Chris Saunders and Tyrone Sterling went agonisingly close before the interval.
After making six changes midway through the second half, Cray fell behind when Pullen netted his second with a great strike ten minutes from time.
Pullen was inches wide with another shot before Cray missed a golden chance to equalise from the penalty-spot.
Tony Dolby's shot was pushed away by the 'keeper, but in Cray's final attack of the game Saunders kept his calm to find the net after accelerating through the Whitstable defence.
Cray's earlier friendly matches during the close season have given the management a chance to assess a number of new triallists. Two experienced players Billy Burgess ex-Dartford defender and Gareth Williams ex-Bromley forward have been added to the squad, and more new signings are expected as the Wands finalise their plans for the new season.
Cray are running a supporters' coach to Leiston Town on Saturday and will stage their first home match on Tuesday 21 August when Whitehawk, another newly-promoted side, come to Hayes Lane (7.45pm).
