ANOTHER packed day of football in the Gravesend Boys and Primary League last Sunday saw a great game between Istead United Red and Longfield Tigers under-9s.

After a goalless first half, Istead scored three goals (Adam Whatman two, Lewis Shuttlewood) in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Istead then missed a penalty and Tigers replied with a great free-kick late on.

An excellent team effort, with goalkeeper Mark O'Boyle giving an outstanding display.

Final score: Istead United Red 3 v 1 Longfield Tigers.

In the under-10s league Meopham Colts Blacks and Reds played both Longfield Tigers teams.

In the first match Meopham Black lost 4-0 to the Tigers.

Meopham goalie Harry Walters made some good saves but Tigers put the pressure on, scoring two goals late in the first half.

The second half saw Meopham fight hard but Tigers scored twice more.

Final score: Meopham Colts Black 0 v 4 Longfield Tigers. Meopham Man of the Match: Jordan Grantham.

Meopham Colts Red came out fighting for the second game but Longfield Tigers scored after 10 minutes.

During the second half Meopham made several shots on goal and their keeper, Adam Lorkin, was kept busy and made some good saves.

Final score: Meopham Colts Red 0 v 0 Longfield Tigers. Meopham Man of the Match: Jake Bains.

Real Gima had a busy day - the under-9s lost 0-1 to Guru Nanak while the under-11s fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2, Liam Barham scoring both goals.

The under-12s played Istead United Colts going a goal behind but winning 6-2.

Neve and Keeshan were among the goal scorers.

Real Gima under-13s beat Eagles FC by five goals, including a hat-trick from Sam Fitton.

Dartford Town continued their fantastic start to the season with only one loss in the second week of the Gravesend Boys & Primary Football League.

The under-9s won 3-0 at home to Longfield Tigers Red with a hat-trick from Harry Hill.

The under-11s won 7-0 with three goals for Davinder Benning, two for Lawrence Brook and two more added by Alex Arney and Arun Sull.

The under-12s romped past Eagles 9-0 with a superb five goals for Jordan Henderson, two goals for Ben Eagles and two more added by Farai Maganga and Luke Davis.

Finally, the under-13s lost away 5-0 to an in-form Babylon team.

Gravesham Town under-10s started their season away to Sutton Dynamos.

The first game was a very close affair with Sutton taking the lead only for Daniel Holness to equalise before the break.

The second half was even closer until Sutton scored two further goals to lead 3-1.

In the last five minutes Gravesham came out firing eventually scoring another goal through Daniel Holness but they could not find a third goal and eventually lost the game 3-2.

The second game saw Gravesham play a very strong Sutton team eventually going down 9-1.

Both Northfleet Eagles under-9s Reds and Golds played Meopham Colts.

The Reds won 4-0 in the A division to remain unbeaten and the Golds, playing Meophams B team, won 6-0.

Both teams played some good football and Meopham continued trying in both games.

Northfleet Eagles under-11s continued on their winning ways beating Longfield Tigers in a close game with goals from Callum Botley and Connor Watkins.

The tables were turned in our under-12s game with Longfield going away with the points in a 2-1 win for them.

John Gibbons scored Eagles lone goal.

The under-13s, playing against 10 boys for Gravesend Spartans, played some good football passing the ball around with good composure to win the game 6-0 with three goals from Ben Percy, a Adam French brace and Joseph Degnin's strike.

Riverview United FC and Istead United Colts played a very entertaining first game although both teams failed to score.

In their second game both teams seemed determined to grab the three points and Istead scored after two minutes with a well-worked goal.

Riverview came back to equalize on 16 minutes and four minutes later scored again.

The second half proved entertaining for the spectators with some fluent football.

Riverview scored again to seal the win 10 minutes before full time. Final score: Riverview United FC 3 v 1 Istead United Colts.
