A NEW football club with a familiar old name has been set up in Abbey Wood.
Bexley United FC has been formed by football people and is set to attract youth participation in the seasons to come for both mini soccer and 11-a-side.
Officials and coaches have come together to bring their experiences in coaching and running youth football to the new club.
Teams will play home games in Abbey Wood at Sevenacres Sports Club and train in the surrounding areas.
Although still in its infancy, Bexley United will be looking to achieve charter standard status to benefit players and the club with coaches who are FA qualified.
Bexley United will be represented by an U18 side this season.
The club is affiliated to the London FA and will play in the South East London & Kent Youth Football League.
