Erith and Belvedere 0 v 3 VCD Athletic
Kent League Premier Division
VCD Athletic made light work of title favourites Erith and Belvedere with a first half performance which took Wayne Brown's side apart.
The visitors had a chance cleared off the line and another effort ruled before the match was four minutes old.
Erith were always on the back foot and VCD took a deserved lead through Danny Penny as he headed home Ashley Probets' perfect cross.
It was one-way traffic with Penny adding another as Erith's stand-in keeper Haywood was all at sea.
VCD missed chance after chance before Probets' through ball released Greatorex and the striker made no mistake.
Martin Ford was forced to make two second half changes with Stuart Abbott and Steve Hogg replacing fullback Terry Ratchford and Kevin Winchcombe.
Eirth had the majority of the second half and although they had the bulk of possession, Grant Wallis in the VCD goal was untroubled.
Ford said: "We did our homework on Erith, we knew their strengths and weaknesses and took full advantage of their stand-in keeper.
"No side in the league would have matched us in the first half as the lads were superb."
