THE newly-formed Flamingoes Womens' Football Club played host to two show-case American teams.

Against Spenceport from New York, goals from Blessing Briamah, Tsi Tsi Munenje and Tomi Omotayo had the Catford-based Flamingoes 3-2 ahead.

Spenceport levelled and should have won but Flamingo keeper Joanne Whittington saved a penalty to make sure the game finished all square.

Things were harder against Redland Elite from Pennsylvania where the Americans ran out 4-0 winners.
