BECKENHAM Town will be without striker Jones Awuah for the start of the new Kent League season.
The powerful centre forward was stretchered off during the Kent League Challenge Shield victory over Maidstone United last week.
It has been confirmed by the club Awuah has an ankle ligament injury and could be out for at least a few weeks.
Only minutes prior to the tackle which left Awuah, 23, crocked he had opened the scoring for Beckenham and set them on their way to a 2-1 win over the newly-promoted Ryman League Division One side.
Ironically Awuah's replacement, Joe McDonald, grabbed the second Beckenham goal.
Former Beckenham star Tony Sinclair got Maidstone's consolation strike.
Beckenham face Erith and Belvedere in the season's curtain raiser on August 12.
