CRAY Wanderers first-ever match against a full international side ended in triumph when the Wands beat the Guyana All Stars on Sunday.
The special match at Dulwich Hamlet formed part of the Cray Wanderers' 150th anniversary celebrations, and was the first time a Guyanese international team has played in Britain.
Playing in front of a large and colourful crowd in a carnival atmosphere, Cray took an early lead from John Guest's header in the fourth minute.
But after strong Guyana pressure in the second half, Sean Cameron levelled the scores just before the final whistle.
The game went into extra-time with no further goals, and then into a penalty shoot-out with the Wands holding their nerve to win 4-3.
Cray visit Whyteleafe for a pre-season friendly on Thursday (7.45pm) followed by a friendly at Chipstead on Saturday (3pm).
The season proper will begin on August 21 with Cray's opening Ryman Premier League fixture of 2010-11 away to AFC Hornchurch (3pm).
